The book The 13-Storey Treehouse is an awesome book that you should totally read. From flying cats to giant gorillas this book has it all. This book is a graphic novel and the author is ANDY GRIFFITHS illustrated by TERRY DENTON. This book is about two kids named Terry and Andy and they live in a 13 storey treehouse with all sorts of surprises. Each storey has different thinks like a bowling alley or a man eating shark tank. The 13 Storey Treehouse is a good book to help with your imagination. Also they like to make books, one draws the other one writes. They also have an invention room where crazy things happen. I liked how creative it was. Definitely read The 13 Storey Treehouse this summer you will enjoy it all the way through! Recommended by J.Nu.

I am reading the book ‘’Frazzled’’ book 3. The author and illustrator of the book is Booki Vivat. This book is a humorous fiction book. The main character is Abbie. It is her first year in middle school and she has a ton of problems. Abbie’s friends are Maxine, Logan and Jess. They stick together and help each other and solve problems. Peter, Abbie’s brother, is very confident and popular in middle school. This book is mainly about a girl named Abbie and she is going to outdoor school for a week and she has to figure out some problems that she has. The thing I like about this book is there are pictures on most pages so you can imagine what is going on. I also like that each chapter has its own little story, but all together they form the main idea of the book. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes problem solving and is interested in reading a book that is halfway between a graphic novel and a regular chapter book. In this realistic fiction book Raymie’s father leaves her and her mom one night and Raymie wants him back, so she tries to get in the newspaper to make her dad see her. Raymie decides to do a beauty pageant and needs a special talent. She calls up her dad's old worker and asks her for help. She suggests doing baton twirling. When Raymie goes to her baton twirling lesson she meets two girls named Louisiana and Beverly who will crack you up! I would recommend this book to anyone who has a heart to laugh. It is the sweetest thing how much these girls care for each other and care for the world. It makes you feel that if these girls can do something, so can you. When you read this book it feels like Raymie, Louisiana, and Beverly are all right there in front of you, and you will realize how special friendship really is. Recommended by A.C. I recommend I Survived the Great Molasses Flood by Lauren Tarshis. This book takes place in the north end of Boston in 1919. This historical fiction book is my favorite I Survived book. It's about a twelve year old girl named Carmen that moved away from her grandmother in Italy so her dad so can send her to school and make more money. Carmen also made a best friend named Tony and he loves molasses. There is a huge molasses tank and Carmen thinks it's disgusting. She hates molasses. When everything seems good a huge flu breaks into Boston called the Spanish flu. The Spanish flu killed 50 million people because they did not know how to treat it and they did not have the technology we have today and it went a little over a year long. When it ended there were so many dead bodies that it would take forever to bury them. And when you think it can't get worse a tank crashes and millions of gallons of thick molasses starts a flood. This is my favorite I Survived book because there is always something interesting going on and that is why I suggest I Survived the Great Molasses Flood by Lauren Tarshis. Recommended by H.R. The book The Truth Cookie by Fiona Dunbar is a great book to read. I would recommend this book to kids my age. The Truth Cookie is set in London in current times. The main character in this book is Lulu. She lives with her dad in the city. Her dad has a girlfriend named Varaminta who has a son named Torquil. Varaminta and Torquil are mean and try to make Lulu look bad. Lulu finds out that Varaminta just wants to marry Lulu’s dad so she can be rich. Lulu spends a lot of time trying to show the truth behind Varaminta’s plans. Lulu gets help from her best friend Frenchie and a very special cookbook that she found in a mysterious bookstore. I liked how this book kept me guessing about what would happen next. I normally don’t like books that are fantasies, but there is just enough fantasy to make the book interesting. I enjoyed seeing how Lulu tried super hard to get her dad to see the truth. I would like to read more books by this author. Recommended by K.D. The book “Spy School” by Stuart Gibbs is an amazing book for fourth and fifth graders. This book is a mystery but has lots of realistic situations. Ben, an eleven year old boy gets recruited for “Spy School” because he played around on the web. At the school Ben finds a girl that he likes. She is an amazing spy and helps him on lots of missions. Ben just got there but already has a big mission. He is bait for the enemy. To find out what happens next read the book. It is amazing, with lots of action. “Spy School” is so fun to read. This is the first book in an awesome series. I would highly recommend this book to fourth grade and up. Recommended by R.Y. I am reviewing the book Nancy Drew and the Secret of the Old Clock by Carolyn Keene. Nancy is a teenage girl who likes doing detective work. This book is a mystery about whether or not someone who died had written a second will. The will is important because all of the money went to one family who did not need it, and the person who died told many other people he would give them some of the money and those people need the money. It has 20 chapters and 180 pages. If you like mysteries you will like this book because there are a lot of surprises and it keeps you guessing until the end. It is a really good book because it gives you a lot of detail. An example of this is when they describe the clock: old, not working, brown, old fashioned, and had a moon on top. I also like the book because it takes Nancy on a lot of different adventures, some of which are pretty dangerous. (She gets locked in a closet by robbers!) In conclusion, I enjoyed reading this first book in the Nancy Drew series. I am looking forward to reading more about Nancy’s adventures this summer. (there are 64 books in total!) The main characters are Joe and Frank Hardy who are two teenage brothers and their father, Fenton, is a famous detective who solves lots of cases. In this book, which takes place in the fictional town of Bayport, there is a robbery of very expensive jewels from a tower and the owners are offering a large sum of money to whoever finds the treasure. Fenton Hardy doesn’t take the case because he is already busy with another job, so Joe and Frank decide to investigate it themselves. The theme of “The Tower Treasure” is teenage detectives, Joe and Frank, racing around Bayport trying to solve their case with some tips from their father. I agreed with most of the decisions that they made during their investigation but some of the decisions were not so good. For example, when they were chasing a suspicious man, Frank stopped running and Joe kept going and the suspect knocked out Joe and took him away in a car. I do not understand why Frank let Joe chase after the man by himself. I liked that when you are reading this book that you are on the tip of your seat because there are so many very interesting twists and turns in this adventure. I recommend this book to 4th and 5th graders who like action and mystery books because this story is filled with action, mystery, and adventure. This is the first book in The Hardy Boys series. Throughout this series, there is continuous action and suspense so I recommend the whole series to anyone who enjoys this genre. Recommended by I.V.
